Neon and Lightning!

Meet Neon and Lightning! Neon the Zorua and Lightning the Zoaroark are the main characters of a new story that I am writing. Neon and Lightning are mother and daughter. This picture takes place in the first scene of the story.

Ok, now you might be a little confused. Let me explain.

In the story, Lightning and Neon lived in the Isshu region. (the new region from the Black and White games) Some bad people wanted to capture them, and they tried to flush them out of the forest they lived in by burning it down. The forest wasn't that far away from the ocean, so Lightning and Neon fled from the forest and escaped by boarding a ship. They didn't care where the ship went, as long as it went as far away from the Isshu region as possible. The ship was actually going to the Sinnoh region.

Neon and Lightning hid in the ship's storage room for days as the ship made its way to the Sinnoh region. When the ship docked, Neon and Lightning found out that the people who wanted to capture them had actually followed them onto the ship. Neon and Lightning got off the ship as soon as possible, fleeing into a nearby forest. (All of this is announced later in the story. The actual story begins after all this happens.)

However, it was raining, and the bad people followed their footprints in the mud. The bad people were closer than ever. Terrified that they would capture Neon, Lightning hid her daughter under a nearby bush. She said her goodbyes to her beloved daughter and ran off in another direction to lead the hunters off course. That was when they were separated.

Here is a snippet from the story when this picture takes place:

" Neon panted, her pink paws racing across the muddy forest floor. The steadily falling rain plastered her blue fur against her body. She looked up at her mother, Lightning, with her electric blue eyes. 'Are we there yet?'

Lightning looked down at her daughter with the same electric blue eyes. 'Almost.' Her eyes gleamed with worry. 'Keep running.' Lightning's neon yellow fur clung to her arms and legs as she ran through the trees. Her hot pink mane flapped in the cold, stormy breeze. 'We didn't sneak onto that ship and come to this place for nothing. They'll never find us here.'

Suddenly, Lightning stopped, her legs skidding on the muddy ground, splashing mud everywhere. Neon bumped into Lightning's legs and fell face first into the dirt. She looked up at her mother, spitting out mud. Lightning stood completely still, her eyes wide with terror. Neon couldn't tell if the water welling up in her mother's eyes were from the rain or if they were tears..."

In this picture, I got rid of the rain so that you can see Lightning and Neon better.

I'm actually pretty proud of these pictures. They took longer than I expected, but they came out better than I expected, too.
